Izumo Japanese Restaurant Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I ordered teriyaki, and I was a little disappointed. I am from Seattle, and there are a lot of Japanese restaurants. I have yet to find a place where I can get some good teriyaki.

Reading the Yelp! reviews we decided to try this establishment. Our party of ten selected this restaurant because it was very close to everyone and we are always up for new adventures. We took the advice of the Yelper's and asked for "Woody The Hibachi Chef" who was very entertaining and gave everyone oversized portions. We started off with some sushi, Spicy Tuna and a Tempura Shrimp roll that was large enough to let everyone have a taste or two. (very good) Then to our main course of hibachi we selected a variety of entrees (scallops, steak, chicken, shrimp, and lobster) that was all cooked to perfection before our eyes. We were surprised that we got Lo Mein Noodles, that were very tender and tasty. Everything was timed perfectly so that we never had something sitting on our plates so long it got cold. We all liked the "yum yum sauce", as Woody called it, and he engaged everyone in conversation. The food was good, service excellent and we all had a fun time as we had the place to ourselves. The price point was actually very reasonable compared to other local hibachi's that I have tried, and we will definitely go back when we have a local event. Thanks for all the guidance Yelper's Cheers!

Delicious! Good service, great food at the Hibachi grill. Everything tastes absolutely good. Woody is a great chef, entertaining & friendly. One of the best hibachi places I have been to in South FL.

Love this place! Always order the Tuna and Salmon roll! Always fresh and delicious! Bonus also if you grab the 15 percent off coupon online! This is my favorite sushi place in South Florida!

My go-to spot when it comes to hibachi, much better than the "chains" around here. They've also got great sushi! Not sure how I haven't reviewed this place since we've been many times. I was in the mood for sushi and the girl wanted hibachi so we opted for one of the tables on the side of the restaurant. I started off with the chefs choice sashimi appetizer. It came with tuna, yellowtail, more tuna, Krab, and some seaweed. Loved every bit of it! She got chicken and shrimp hibachi, also comes with noodles, fried rice, salad, and miso soup. Always a winner. For my main course I decided on the katsuya roll(8-10 pcs). It's tuna, salmon, crab, cream cheese, avocado, scallion, whole tempura on top, eel sauce. Just like everything else it, it came out great. Perfect place to go for a nice meal when in the area.

After arriving to The Walk, and realizing Peking Tokyo, the power house of Coral Springs Hibachi closed, I found Izumo on Yelp and decided to try it out. Not only is Izumo my new favorite Hibachi spot, but the BEST hibachi in South Florida, by far. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is mostly filled with regulars, who have been dining in for 10+ years. This establishment is very clean and has a friendly staff. Five stars, will definitely be back.

My all-time favorite hibachi place, this has been a staple of date night for YEARS! It easily blows away the big-chain Hibachi places. Their portions are the perfect size, food is seasoned very well, and their prices are more than fair. Woody and Lu are our favorite chefs there, their cooking is excellent and they're a lot of fun to have at the table. Woody loves to talk about the most recent movies and sports news, so come prepared to chat!

This is a nice little sushi & hibachi place! It is extremely affordable in regards to the sushi and sashimi! I'm used to paying twice the amount for the same quality fish! The service is pretty good, although I really wish they would refill water cups a bit more often. I would definitely go back.

Thanks Yelpers! Found a new hibachi place that is cozy and very good! The place smaller than a Benihana or other local places but it means you don't get lost in the shuffle! Lots of locals and the cook knew everyone and greeted them as they walked in! He was also chatty with the table! Lots of good quality food for the price! I had the steak/scallop combo and couldn't finish it! Thumbs up!!

Prices were a little steep for me, especially when they charge $2.95 for a fried rice upgrade. It's a nice enough place and definitely in suburbia! I got the chicken and shrimp think it was priced at $24.95 + $2.95 for fried rice vs white rice, it was delicious and there was alot of food! But just seemed alittle too pricey for me for a Wednesday night dinner. The place maybe had 10 people in it, so maybe they should think about offering a discount during the week and jack the prices back up over the weekend? Also, we had a 3 year old with us and the noise and the fire scared him to death, maybe not a great place for little ones.

For me, the food was great, the entertaintment not so much. I would say food wise, they are much better than Japan Inn or Bennihanas, but the portions are just as small as Bennihanas. There is nothing that annoys me more than paying extra for fried rice at a hibachi restaurant and icing on the cake just giving one tiny bowl. That is why I prefer Japan Inn-- they give me double rice when asked. But I would have to say this place makes better noodles than any other place I've been to. My only qualm about my visit is that the cook knew some of the regular customers at the table, so he didn't bother to do tricks or entertain. He only talked to them about football the whole time. This was disappointing, because we were there for a birthday and you come for the show! Just FYI, to make a reservation at the hibachi table you have to have a party of 6, which I found weird. For other birthdays I've had in the past I always make a reservation or walk in or 2 to 4 people at other restaurants. But if they can't accomodate you at the table, you can have hibachi at regular tables without the show.

  • Barbara F.

Food is delicious! Much better than Japan Inn or Benihana. They don't put on as much of a show but the food is amazing. I would choose this restaurant over all of the other Japanese restaurants if you're more interested in the food rather than the entertainment.

Hands down our favorite hibachi place. We eat here about once a month and every time we ask the kids where they want to eat out for a special occasion they say "Izumo!" The food is good and we've always had fun at the hibachi tables. My fav is the hibachi filet mignon. Melts in your mouth :) I saw another reviewer say you have to have 6 people for a reservation, but maybe she talked to a new guy or misunderstood or something, because we've been going there for more than 5 years and have never had a problem making a reservation for 4 (usually) or 2 (if it's just my husband and me). If you don't have a party of six, you will be seated at a table with other people, like any hibachi place I guess, so no, you won't get your own table, but you CAN make a reservation. Their sushi is great too- very fresh. Try the spicy tuna hand roll.

  • Elizabeth P.

Save yourself the money and trip. Go to Benihana for a real show and good food. No alcohol here except beer and wine. Extra charge for fried rice that wasn't good at all. I mean really how can you mess up fried rice? Yuk! Thumbs down.

Izumo's is a cozy and authentic Japanese restaurant, with both traditional sit down tables as well as hibachi (grill-on-top) tables. I've eaten at both, and I've enjoyed my meals there. I ate at a hibachi table with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. To me, the prices for hibachi meals are much more reasonable and economical in comparison to other hibachi restaurants. However, there are fewer hibachi tables, which means less seating and longer waits for tables if you don't have a reservation. I highly recommend making reservations if you plan on eating hibachi, even for the smallest of parties. Portions are large, but they charge extra for fried rice. In my opinion, the degree of "show" they give to the customers probably depends on the ages and reactions of the diners eating. I went once with my adult friends, and we didn't get much of a show... but on a different occasion, I took my niece and nephew here (ages 4 and 7), and the chef was very lively and playful. I also returned on a different occasion just to eat sushi at their regular tables. I ordered a chirashi bowl, which is an assortment of sashimi pieces presented by the chef. It was filling, flavorful, and beautifully presented. If you're looking for a relaxing dinner of authentic ramen, noodle or rice bowls, or creative sushi, Izumo delivers with reasonable prices.

We had Hibachi. The food was outstanding, the hibachi noodles were so yummy, but the cook we had didn't do much of a show for us. The tables around us were getting great shows and their cooks were really hamming it up, but ours was kind of a dud. It could have been because the other people sitting at our table (who we did not know) weren't really paying attention -- they were teenagers more interested in their phones. Next time I'll know to ask for Woody. Our guy did do the best volcano I'd ever seen though.

Woody or Lu cook the most amazing hibachi.. In 5 years going to Izumo, they never disappoint me! The food is always cooked to perfection and every chef has a great personality. They give you so much food for less than the other competitors. PLUS I know nearby restaurants (Peking Tokyo and sushi hibachi) that serve linguine NOT lo mien noodles. You will leave feeling full and completely satisfied that you wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

If you go to places like Benihana, then you owe it to yourself to visit Izumo in Coral Springs - it's a hidden gem! The restaurant is quaint, only 4 or 5 hibachi tables, but the food is delicious, very well priced, and the portion sizes are significantly larger than the "competition". This is a must-eat if you are anywhere near Coral Springs!

Not sure about my experience here. It's a small location in a plaza and the inside was cramped. I've been to many hibachi locations and this one had me concerned. I'm usually easy going and not picky but I was very temped to take my party to another restaurant because of our first impression. The inside is dated and does not feel clean. The menus are old, worn, and even had prices crossed off with pen and new prices hand written. The price is similar to every hibachi grill I've been to but the service is far below expectations including sodas being served in cans. The chef and the food was good, no doubt about that, but overall experience left a lot to be desired.

We are back here for what seems like our 100th time. Whether we sit at a habachi table or just a regular table the service and food is always great The portion are bigger then Benihana, the prices are much cheaper then Benihana, the food is better then Benihana, and the chef shows are better then Benihana. So why go to Benihana ???

This isn't the ultra fancy sushi roll place. However the sushi is fresh, they have hibachi for the dudes who like that. However the prices are very reasonable which attracts me to this place. When I do a secondary order, you know I like the place. Five stars until I find something wrong. Great sushi, great place, GREAT prices!

This is my go-to take out place for Sushi in Coral Springs. The place is owned by a Japanese native, so at lease psychologically, it give me a sense of authenticity. The rolls, however, are actually very good. I especially like the American Dream & Super Gozilla rolls. The decor and ambiance, however, are on the spartan side, and the place can feel a little run down. So I always order take-out. They can also take quite sometime with the making of their food, so call ahead and give it an extra 10 minutes. The rolls keep me coming back though.

This is one of the best restaurants for hibachi in south Florida that I have been too. Not too expensive and the food portions are massive and delicious. The only downside, is that they don't know how to take reservations. I went last week with a party of four after calling two hours previously to confirm. Upon arrival, we saw a party of 30 outside and the restaurant bumped us at least 30 minutes without giving us anything complimentary, or even an apology for not being able to manage appropriately. That is my only complaint.

I believe it's much better than Benihana. Not only price is better but they taste better. However if you are looking for a nice atomosphere then this place may not be the best for you. It's very family orientated smaller place. I don't eat sushi here so i can't tell you how it is but hibachi is very good :)

    (4)
  • Richard M.

Entertaining and tasty. Sonny is the best Hibachi chef, bar none. Service is pretty good and the prices are very reasonable. This may not be your fancy date night place, but it is definitely a week night hit. One issue I have run into, albeit only once in 6 years, the scallops were bad prior to cooking. I guess that can happen anywhere you go, though.

I give one star for places I know I would never go back to even if I had friends that invited me, and this is one of those places. Based on the other positive reviews 4 of us decided to try it for lunch. Not one person in our group had anything good to say and the one that suggested we try the place even apologized for it afterwards. Atmosphere We went on a Thursday during peak lunch time and we were the only customers the entire time. The waitress was lying on an empty bench on the phone most of the time. The atmosphere was drab; there was old masking tape with numbers on the wall of each booth, presumably from the old restaurant. There were pictures of the food with numbers next to them like you see in Chinese carry out on the main dining room wall. They had two of the oldest TVs hanging from the ceilings - they need to just get rid of the TVs and the pictures of the food and spruce the place up a bit. Food: Well strange enough, you won't get hibachi at the hibachi grill for lunch; they don't do it - so forget it. They will let you order from the hibachi menu but it is the same exact price as the dinner (17 - 24 dollars) they just cook it in the back and not on the hibachi table. We decided we would just order from the limited lunch menu instead. Between the four of us we had some chicken, noodles, steak, rice, sushi and salad. The chicken tasted like it was frozen and was tasteless and dry, the noodles were mushy from being over-cooked, there were supposed to be vegetables in the meal but we got about 2 slices of zucchini and nothing else, the sushi was warm and not what I would consider good sushi, the guests that had the steak just keep saying it tasted weird. Of course we left most of the food un-eaten. We would have said something to the waitress but I guess she had more important things to do like rest in the booth on the phone. Verdict: I don't understand the good reviews at all. I can easily say this place is not good and certainly not the best hibachi or sushi, it wasn't even close to being average. I am not even sure they were trying. The food reminded me of mall courtyard food except not as good. You won't see us back there and judging from the lack of a lunch crowd I think others must feel the same. If they are going to open for lunch they need to do it 100%, it needs quality and attention if not they will lose 100% of customers that step in to try them for lunch and find the same experience and low quality of food that we did.

I believe it's much better than Benihana. Not only price is better but they taste better. However if you are looking for a nice atomosphere then this place may not be the best for you. It's very family orientated smaller place. I don't eat sushi here so i can't tell you how it is but hibachi is very good :)
